20 P tongue twisters: pop your plosives properly
P is a paradox: podcasters fight to soften it (that's what pop filters are for), while mumblers need to strengthen it. Both problems have the same root — uncontrolled air. A crisp P is a small, precise pop; a weak P disappears into the vowel, and "possible" becomes "ossible" somewhere in the room's back row.

How to drill P
- The paper test. Hold a strip of paper an inch from your lips and say "puh" — it should flick visibly. No flick = no pop.
- Small pop, not spit. A P that soaks the microphone is as untrained as one that vanishes. Aim for precise, not violent.
- Ends of words. "Stop," "keep," "help" — final P's are the first casualties of mumbling. Land them.
- Score it. Run any twister through the tongue twister test — 15 seconds, and the clarity score tells you whether your P's actually pop or just feel like they do.
